Advanced English

  • Class Overview

  • This course comprises a series of distinctive classes focused on how students can write magnificently and hone their English writing skills. Advanced English focuses on each level of articulation – the paragraph, sentence and word levels. The aim is to teach students inspirational penmanship and develop poignant English masterpieces individually and in teams. Critical writing exercises will have varying degrees of difficulty, sophistication and complexity to cater to the level and age of the students.

We deploy a “Socratic – law school style” teaching methodology meant to foster critical thinking, wherein students question, analyze and debate the provided reading materials prior to putting pen to paper. Students will be provided with immediate feedback at the end of each session and can follow up further, where necessary.

Our aim is for students to learn how to write polished and impeccable essays. These skills will underpin students’ success in English irrespective for current academic needs or future application to international schools (IGCSE, IB programs), overseas elite boarding/secondary schools and/or universities (including admissions testing e.g. SAT).
